Instructions and Rules
How to participate in The Hunt:To start the Hunt you must have a paid registration. You may register any time from now until February 28th.
Please make sure your location services are enabled and you click allow fantastic hunts to use your current location.
Log in to your account on The Long Island Great Movie Hunt page starting on February 9th and click the start the hunt button. This will take you to your first clue.
Play the clue and begin your hunt. There is a second clue button for help to figure out the movie should you need it. Feel free to use the web to search for the movie and or location-based on the clues.
Lastly, if all else fails, and you just give up, there is a last button for the weak hunters. This will provide the movie title, address, and GPS directions to the location.
Once you reach the correct location your device will automatically alert you that you have successfully found the correct location.
Please hit the register my location button and your next clue will appear.
When you are getting close to the location opening the clue page will tell you exactly how far you have to go to reach your destination.
How to use the location menu:
If you choose to skip a location, you can click on the locations button and select any location you choose to skip to. Please keep in mind, the hunt is designed to maximize your time efficiently.
If you follow our guide, the hunt will approximately take 4 hours in total.
FANTASTIC HUNT RULES (the Dos and Don'ts:)
The Scavenger Hunt was designed as a COVID safe activity, please act accordingly with social distancing and mask wear as needed.
Please be respectful of ALL places you visit.
PRIVATE PROPERTY means PRIVATE PROPERTY. Much can be seen without trespassing. Please follow the rules when you see those signs.
Please do not litter or vandalize property.
Please be courteous to others you may meet during your experience, we all just want to have fun.
YOU MUST BE LOGGED INTO YOUR ACCOUNT WITH THE USER NAME AND PASSWORD YOU REGISTERED WITH THE ENTIRE TIME YOU ARE ACTIVELY HUNTING.
We Recommend you are able to charge your device in the car as the GPS locator/ videos use a lot of juice and we want you to get the most out of your hunting experience.
There is NO time limit. Once the event begins, you may start and stop any time you wish and continue on until the event's last day.
When taking selfies try to be creative, but please try not to give the location you are posting at away.
Please do not spoil the scavenger hunt for others by posting up any information and or clues you may already have found.
Due to the nature of the event giving multiple days and time complete, there will be no refunds issued
